इत्थं यदाऽब्रवीद्वह्निस्तदा त्वं मुनिसत्तम ॥ शंकरप्रेरितः प्रात्थ हृदाग्निमुपकारकः ॥ ५१ ॥
O excellent sage, when fire said like this, you, urged by Śiva, said thus in order to help Agni.
english translation
॥ नारद उवाच ॥ शृणु मद्वचनं वह्ने तव दाहहरं शुभम्॥ परमानंददं रम्यं सर्वकष्टनिवारकम् ॥५२॥
Nārada said: O Agni, listen to my words that will dispel your burning sensation. It will yield great pleasure and ward off your pains.
english translation
कृत्वोपायमिमं वह्ने सुखी भव विदाहकः ॥ शिवेच्छया मया सम्यगुक्तं तातेदमादरात् ॥ ५३ ॥
O Agni, taking recourse to the following expedient you will be relieved of the burning sensation and be happy. O dear, this has been explained by me well at the will of Śiva.
english translation
तपोमासस्नानकर्त्र्यस्त्रियो यास्स्युः प्रगे शुचे ॥ तद्देहेषु स्थापय त्वं शिवरेतस्त्विदं महत् ॥५४॥
O Agni, you shall deposit this semen of Śiva in the bodies of the ladies who take their morning baths in the month of Māgha.
english translation
ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ तस्मिन्नवसरे तत्रा ऽगतास्सप्तमुनिस्त्रियः ॥ तपोमासि स्नानकामाः प्रातस्सन्नियमा मुने ॥५५॥
Brahmā said: O sage, meanwhile the wives of the seven celestial sages came there desirous of taking their early morning bath in the month of Māgha with other observances of rites.
