कृतं पुरा तु केनेह सूतैतद्व्रतमुत्तमम् ॥ कृत्वाप्यज्ञानतश्चैव प्राप्तं किं फलमुत्तमम् ॥ २ ॥
O Sūta, by whom was this excellent Vrata performed formerly? Was an excellent benefit derived by any by performing it without full knowledge?

kRtaM purA tu keneha sUtaitadvratamuttamam ॥ kRtvApyajJAnatazcaiva prAptaM kiM phalamuttamam ॥ 2 ॥
