ज्योतिर्लिंगमिदं श्रेष्ठं दर्शनात्पूजनादपि ॥ सर्वपापहरं दिव्यं भुक्तिवर्द्धनमुत्तमम् ॥ २१ ॥
This Jyotirlinga is better than seeing it and worshiping it It destroys all sins and is divine and excellent in enhancing enjoyment.
english translation
jyotirliMgamidaM zreSThaM darzanAtpUjanAdapi ॥ sarvapApaharaM divyaM bhuktivarddhanamuttamam ॥ 21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्मिँलिंगे स्थिते तत्र सर्वलोकहिताय वै ॥ रावणः स्वगृहं गत्वा वरं प्राप्य महोत्तमम् ॥ प्रियायै सर्वमाचख्यौ सुखेनाति महासुरः ॥ २२ ॥
It stood there for the benefit of the worlds. Rāvaṇa returned to his abode after securing the blissful boon.
english translation
tasmi~liMge sthite tatra sarvalokahitAya vai ॥ rAvaNaH svagRhaM gatvA varaM prApya mahottamam ॥ priyAyai sarvamAcakhyau sukhenAti mahAsuraH ॥ 22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतच्छ्रुत्वा सकला देवाश्शक्राद्या मुनयस्तथा ॥ परस्परं समामन्त्र्य शिवासक्तधियोऽमलाः ॥ २३ ॥
On hearing of it Indra and other gods and the pious sages with minds fixed in Śiva consulted one another.
english translation
tacchrutvA sakalA devAzzakrAdyA munayastathA ॥ parasparaM samAmantrya zivAsaktadhiyo'malAH ॥ 23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्मिन्काले सुरास्सर्वे हरिब्रह्मादयो मुने ॥ आजग्मुस्तत्र सुप्रीत्या पूजां चक्रुर्विशेषतः ॥ २४ ॥
O sage, Viṣṇu, Brahmā and other gods arrived at the spot and devotedly performed the worship of Śiva.
english translation
tasminkAle surAssarve haribrahmAdayo mune ॥ Ajagmustatra suprItyA pUjAM cakrurvizeSataH ॥ 24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रत्यक्षं तं तदा दृष्ट्वा प्रतिष्ठाप्य च ते सुराः ॥ वैद्यनाथेति संप्रोच्य नत्वा नुत्वा दिवं ययुः ॥ २५ ॥
The gods saw the deity personally and after consecrating the image they called Vaidyanātha. They then bowed to the image and eulogised it. Then they returned to heaven.

pratyakSaM taM tadA dRSTvA pratiSThApya ca te surAH ॥ vaidyanAtheti saMprocya natvA nutvA divaM yayuH ॥ 25 ॥
