एकादश च वर्षाणि लोकानां पातकं त्विह ।। क्षालितं यद्भवेदेवं मलिनास्स्मः सरिद्वरे ।। ४४।।

For eleven years the sins of the worlds have been in this world. Whatever is washed away, we are dirty in the best of rivers.

english translation

ekAdaza ca varSANi lokAnAM pAtakaM tviha || kSAlitaM yadbhavedevaM malinAssmaH saridvare || 44||
