यावदाश्रममध्ये त्वं तावदेव हविर्भुजः ॥ पितरश्च न गृह्णंति ह्यस्मद्दत्तं हि किञ्चन ॥ ३९॥

As long as you stay in the midst of the hermitage, the sacrificial fires and the manes will not accept our gifts.

english translation

yAvadAzramamadhye tvaM tAvadeva havirbhujaH ॥ pitarazca na gRhNaMti hyasmaddattaM hi kiJcana ॥ 39॥
