मत्सेवां प्रथमं कृत्वा कार्यमन्यत्कुलोचितम् ॥ एवं कृतेऽखिले भद्रं दोषाः क्षान्ता मया तव॥ ५१॥
After rendering service to me at the outset, the other rites shall be performed according to the family tradition. When everything is thus performed there shall be welfare. Your blemishes have been excused by me.
english translation
॥ सूत उवाच ॥ इत्युक्त्वा तस्य पुत्राश्च चत्वारो बटुकास्तदा ॥ अभिषिक्ताश्चतुर्दिक्षु शिवेन परमात्मना ॥ ५२॥
Sūta said:— After saying this, the supreme soul Śiva consecrated his four sons as Vaṭukas in the four quarters.

चण्डी चैवात्मनिकटे पुत्रं स्थाप्य सुदर्शनम् ॥ तत्पुत्रान्प्रेरयामास वरान्दत्त्वा ह्यनेकशः ॥ ५३ ॥
After keeping Sudarśana as her son with herself she granted boons to his sons and blessed them in several ways.
english translation
देव्युवाच ॥ उभयोर्युवयोर्मध्ये वटुको यो भवेन्मम ॥ तस्य स्याद्विजयो नित्यं नात्र कार्या विचारणा ॥ ५४ ॥
The Goddess said:— Between you two whoever becomes my Vaṭuka shall be victorious. No doubt need be entertained in this respect.

भवांश्च पूजितो येन तेनैवाहं प्रपूजिता ॥ कर्तव्यं हि भवद्भिश्च स्वीयं कर्म सदा सुत ॥ ५५ ॥
He who worships you has worshipped me too. You shall perform your duties always, O son.
