नानोपायाः कृता मे हि तच्छान्त्यै भ्रमता मुने ॥ न निवृत्ता ब्रह्महत्या मम पापात्मनः किमु ॥ ३६ ॥
O sage, I roamed here and there and tried various means to quell it. But it did not leave me off. Is it not due to my being a sinning soul?
english translation
nAnopAyAH kRtA me hi tacchAntyai bhramatA mune ॥ na nivRttA brahmahatyA mama pApAtmanaH kimu ॥ 36 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअद्य मे जन्मसाफल्यं संप्राप्तमिव लक्षये ॥ यतस्त्वद्दर्शनादेव ममानन्दभरोऽभवत् ॥ ३७ ॥
Now it seems to me that I have attained the fruits of my birth because merely by your sight my heart is filled with bliss.
english translation
adya me janmasAphalyaM saMprAptamiva lakSaye ॥ yatastvaddarzanAdeva mamAnandabharo'bhavat ॥ 37 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअद्य मे तवपादाब्ज शरणस्य कृतैनसः ॥ शांतिं कुरु महाभाग येनाहं सुखमाप्नुयाम् ॥ ३८ ॥
O fortunate one, I, the sinner, seek refuge in your lotus-like feet. Grant me peace, whereby I can be happy.
english translation
adya me tavapAdAbja zaraNasya kRtainasaH ॥ zAMtiM kuru mahAbhAga yenAhaM sukhamApnuyAm ॥ 38 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसूत उवाच ॥ इति राज्ञा समादिष्टो गौतमः करुणार्द्रधीः ॥ समादिदेश घोराणामघानां साधु निष्कृतिम् ॥ ३९॥
Sūta said:— Implored thus by the king, the kind-hearted Gautama instructed him in the expiatory means for terrible sins.
english translation
sUta uvAca ॥ iti rAjJA samAdiSTo gautamaH karuNArdradhIH ॥ samAdideza ghorANAmaghAnAM sAdhu niSkRtim ॥ 39॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगौतम उवाच ॥ साधु राजेन्द्र धन्योसि महाघेभ्यो भयन्त्यज॥ शिवे शास्तरि भक्तानां क्व भयं शरणैषिणाम्॥ ४०॥
Gautama said:— O excellent king, well done You are blessed. Eschew all fear from sins. As long as Śiva is the ruler, there can be no terror to devotees who seek refuge in him.
english translation
gautama uvAca ॥ sAdhu rAjendra dhanyosi mahAghebhyo bhayantyaja॥ zive zAstari bhaktAnAM kva bhayaM zaraNaiSiNAm॥ 40॥
