पृथिव्यां यानि यानि लिंगानि तीर्थेतीर्थे शुभानि हि ।। अन्यत्र वा स्थले यानि प्रसिद्धानि स्थितानि वै ।। ६ ।।

sanskrit

Whatever auspicious limbs are found on earth in holy places Or elsewhere on the ground which are well known to be situated.

english translation

pRthivyAM yAni yAni liMgAni tIrthetIrthe zubhAni hi || anyatra vA sthale yAni prasiddhAni sthitAni vai || 6 ||

तानि तानि च दिव्यानि लिंगानि परमेशितुः ।। व्यासशिष्य समाचक्ष्व लोकानां हितकाम्यया ।। ७।।

sanskrit

Those and those divine limbs of the Supreme Lord. O disciple of Vyasa please tell me for the welfare of the worlds.

english translation

tAni tAni ca divyAni liMgAni paramezituH || vyAsaziSya samAcakSva lokAnAM hitakAmyayA || 7||

सूत उवाच ।। साधुपृष्टमृषिश्रेष्ठ लोकानां हितकाम्यया।। कथयामि भवत्स्नेहात्तानि संक्षेपतो द्विजाः ।। ८ ।।

sanskrit

Sūta said:— O brahmins, O excellent sages, you have asked well. I shall explain them in brief with a desire for the welfare of the worlds and due to my affection for you.

english translation

sUta uvAca || sAdhupRSTamRSizreSTha lokAnAM hitakAmyayA|| kathayAmi bhavatsnehAttAni saMkSepato dvijAH || 8 ||

सर्वेषां शिवलिंगानां मुने संख्या न विद्यते ।। सर्वं लिंगमयी भूमिः सर्वलिंगमयं जगत् ।। ९ ।।

sanskrit

O sage, there is no limit to the number of phallic images. The entire earth, the entire universe is in the form of a phallus.

english translation

sarveSAM zivaliMgAnAM mune saMkhyA na vidyate || sarvaM liMgamayI bhUmiH sarvaliMgamayaM jagat || 9 ||

लिंगमयानि तीर्थानि सर्वं लिंगे प्रतिष्ठितम् ।। संख्या न विद्यते तेषां तानि किंचिद्ब्रवीम्यहम् ।। १०।।

sanskrit

The holy centres are equipped with phallic images. Everything is founded on these. There is no limit to their number. I shall mention a few of them.

liMgamayAni tIrthAni sarvaM liMge pratiSThitam || saMkhyA na vidyate teSAM tAni kiMcidbravImyaham || 10||
