Shiva Purana
पञ्चाध्वव्यापिनं तस्मात्कलापञ्चकविग्रहम् ॥ ईशानमुकुटं देवम्पुरुषाख्यम्पुरातनम् ॥ ६० ॥
It extends over the five paths and is therefore the five-fold form of the arts. The northern crown is the ancient god Purusha.
