साधारमर्घ्यपात्रं च स्थाप्य गंधादिनार्चयेत् ॥ आपूर्य्य शुद्धतोयेन तस्मिन्पात्रे विनिःक्षिपेत् ॥ ६ ॥

Placing the ordinary arghya vessel, one should worship the deity with fragrant oils and other offerings. Fill it with pure water and pour it into the vessel.

english translation

sAdhAramarghyapAtraM ca sthApya gaMdhAdinArcayet ॥ ApUryya zuddhatoyena tasminpAtre viniHkSipet ॥ 6 ॥
