इत्यादिशिवसूत्राणां वार्तिकं कथितं मया॥ ज्ञानं बंध इतीदं तु द्वितीयं सूत्रमीशितुः ॥ ४६ ॥
Thus I have described the argument of the Shiva Sutras. Knowledge and bondage are the second formulas of the Lord.

ज्ञानमित्यात्मनस्तस्य किंचिज्ज्ञानक्रियात्मकम्॥ इत्याहाद्यपदेनेशः पशुवर्गस्य लक्षणम्॥ ४७ ॥
Knowledge is something of the Self consisting of knowledge and action. By the words, etc., the Lord is a characteristic of the animal class.

एतद्द्वयं पराशक्तेः प्रथमं स्पंदतां गतम्॥ एतामेव परां शक्तिं श्वेताश्वतरशाखिनः ॥ ४८ ॥
These two have become the first vibrations of the Supreme Power. This is the supreme power of the white horse branches.

स्वाभाविकी ज्ञानबलक्रिया चेत्यस्तुवन्मुदा॥ ज्ञानक्रियेच्छारूपं हि शंभोर्दृष्टित्रयं विदुः॥ ४९ ॥
They joyfully praised the natural action of knowledge and strength. For the three sights of Lord Śiva are known to be in the form of knowledge, action and desire.

एतन्मनोमध्यगं सदिन्द्रियज्ञानगोचरम् ॥ अनुप्रविश्य जानाति करोति च पशुः सदा॥ ५० ॥
When these reaching the centre of the mind become the object of perception on the part of sense-organs the individual soul enters these, then knows and acts.
