लोकस्य व्यवहारार्थं कौपीनं दण्डमेव च ॥ भगवन्स्वीकुरुष्वेति दद्यात्स्वेनैव पाणिना ॥ ७६ ॥
A cape and a staff for the behavior of the world O lord, accept it, and offer it with your own hand.
english translation
दत्त्वा सुदोरं कौपीनं काषायवसनं ततः ॥ आच्छाद्याचम्य च द्वेधा त शिष्यमिति संवदेत्॥ ७७ ॥
Then he gave her a long-sleeved cape and a brown robe. He should cover himself and wash himself in two ways and converse with him as a disciple.
english translation
इन्द्रस्य वज्रोऽसि तत इति मन्त्रमुदाहरेत् ॥ सम्प्रार्थ्य दण्डं गृह्णीयात्सखाय इति संजपन् ॥ ७८ ॥
Then one should chant the mantra 'You are the thunderbolt of Indra' Pray to him and chant the mantra 'Take the rod for your friend'.
english translation
अथ गत्वा गुरोः पार्श्वं शिवपादांबुजं स्मरन् ॥ प्रणमेद्दण्डवद्भूमौ त्रिवारं संयतात्मवान् ॥ ७९ ॥
He shall approach the preceptor remembering the lotus-like feet of Śiva and fall at his feet thrice with fully restrained mind.
english translation
पुनरुत्थाय च शनैः प्रेम्णा पश्यन्गुरुं निजम् ॥ कृताञ्जलिपुटस्तिष्ठेद्गुरुपाद समीपतः ॥ ८० ॥
Standing up again he shall approach the feet of the preceptor with palms joined in reverence, glancing at his preceptor with love.
