आ॒शुं द॑धि॒क्रां तमु॒ नु ष्ट॑वाम दि॒वस्पृ॑थि॒व्या उ॒त च॑र्किराम । उ॒च्छन्ती॒र्मामु॒षस॑: सूदय॒न्त्वति॒ विश्वा॑नि दुरि॒तानि॑ पर्षन् ॥ आशुं दधिक्रां तमु नु ष्टवाम दिवस्पृथिव्या उत चर्किराम । उच्छन्तीर्मामुषसः सूदयन्त्वति विश्वानि दुरितानि पर्षन् ॥
Verily we praise that swift Dadhikrā and scatter (proved before him) from heaven and earth; may the gloom-dispelling dawns preserve for me (all good things), and bear me beyond all evils.
english translation
म॒हश्च॑र्क॒र्म्यर्व॑तः क्रतु॒प्रा द॑धि॒क्राव्ण॑: पुरु॒वार॑स्य॒ वृष्ण॑: । यं पू॒रुभ्यो॑ दीदि॒वांसं॒ नाग्निं द॒दथु॑र्मित्रावरुणा॒ ततु॑रिम् ॥ महश्चर्कर्म्यर्वतः क्रतुप्रा दधिक्राव्णः पुरुवारस्य वृष्णः । यं पूरुभ्यो दीदिवांसं नाग्निं ददथुर्मित्रावरुणा ततुरिम् ॥
Fulfiller of religious rites, I reiterate the praise of the great Dadhikrā, the liberal, many-honoured showerer (of benefits), whom Mitra and Varuṇa gave for the good of many, the transporter (beyond calamity), as brilliant as Agni.
english translation
यो अश्व॑स्य दधि॒क्राव्णो॒ अका॑री॒त्समि॑द्धे अ॒ग्ना उ॒षसो॒ व्यु॑ष्टौ । अना॑गसं॒ तमदि॑तिः कृणोतु॒ स मि॒त्रेण॒ वरु॑णेना स॒जोषा॑: ॥ यो अश्वस्य दधिक्राव्णो अकारीत्समिद्धे अग्ना उषसो व्युष्टौ । अनागसं तमदितिः कृणोतु स मित्रेण वरुणेना सजोषाः ॥
May Aditi, consentient with Mitra and Varuṇa render him free from sin who has performed the worship of the steed Dadhikrā, when the fire has been kindled at the opening of the dawn.
english translation
द॒धि॒क्राव्ण॑ इ॒ष ऊ॒र्जो म॒हो यदम॑न्महि म॒रुतां॒ नाम॑ भ॒द्रम् । स्व॒स्तये॒ वरु॑णं मि॒त्रम॒ग्निं हवा॑मह॒ इन्द्रं॒ वज्र॑बाहुम् ॥ दधिक्राव्ण इष ऊर्जो महो यदमन्महि मरुतां नाम भद्रम् । स्वस्तये वरुणं मित्रमग्निं हवामह इन्द्रं वज्रबाहुम् ॥
While we glorify the name of the great Dadhikrā the means of sustenance and of strength, the prosperity of those who praise (him), let us invoke (also) for our welfare Varuṇa, Mitra, Agni, and Indra, the bearer of the thunderbolt.
english translation
इन्द्र॑मि॒वेदु॒भये॒ वि ह्व॑यन्त उ॒दीरा॑णा य॒ज्ञमु॑पप्र॒यन्त॑: । द॒धि॒क्रामु॒ सूद॑नं॒ मर्त्या॑य द॒दथु॑र्मित्रावरुणा नो॒ अश्व॑म् ॥ इन्द्रमिवेदुभये वि ह्वयन्त उदीराणा यज्ञमुपप्रयन्तः । दधिक्रामु सूदनं मर्त्याय ददथुर्मित्रावरुणा नो अश्वम् ॥
Those who are preparing for battle, those who are proceeding to sacrifice, both invoke (Dadhikra) as if (he was) Indra; Mitra and Varuṇa have given to us the horse Dadhikrā as an encourager to man.
