उ॒प॒क्षे॒तार॒स्तव॑ सुप्रणी॒तेऽग्ने॒ विश्वा॑नि॒ धन्या॒ दधा॑नाः । सु॒रेत॑सा॒ श्रव॑सा॒ तुञ्ज॑माना अ॒भि ष्या॑म पृतना॒यूँरदे॑वान् ॥ उपक्षेतारस्तव सुप्रणीतेऽग्ने विश्वानि धन्या दधानाः । सुरेतसा श्रवसा तुञ्जमाना अभि ष्याम पृतनायूँरदेवान् ॥
Approaching you, benevolent Agni, and performing all holy acts that are the cause of opulence, offering oblations with earnestness and in abundance, may we overcome the hostile hosts that are without gods.
english translation
आ दे॒वाना॑मभवः के॒तुर॑ग्ने म॒न्द्रो विश्वा॑नि॒ काव्या॑नि वि॒द्वान् । प्रति॒ मर्ताँ॑ अवासयो॒ दमू॑ना॒ अनु॑ दे॒वान्र॑थि॒रो या॑सि॒ साध॑न् ॥ आ देवानामभवः केतुरग्ने मन्द्रो विश्वानि काव्यानि विद्वान् । प्रति मर्ताँ अवासयो दमूना अनु देवान्रथिरो यासि साधन् ॥
You, Agni, are the commendable announcer of the gods, cognizant of all sacred rites; plural cid, you abide among mortals, and, like a charioteer, you follow the gods, accomplishing (their wishes).
english translation
नि दु॑रो॒णे अ॒मृतो॒ मर्त्या॑नां॒ राजा॑ ससाद वि॒दथा॑नि॒ साध॑न् । घृ॒तप्र॑तीक उर्वि॒या व्य॑द्यौद॒ग्निर्विश्वा॑नि॒ काव्या॑नि वि॒द्वान् ॥ नि दुरोणे अमृतो मर्त्यानां राजा ससाद विदथानि साधन् । घृतप्रतीक उर्विया व्यद्यौदग्निर्विश्वानि काव्यानि विद्वान् ॥
The immortal being has sat down in the dwelling of mortals, accomplishing (their) sacrifices; Agni, who is cognizant of all sacred rites, shines with expanded bulk when fed with clarified butter.
english translation
आ नो॑ गहि स॒ख्येभि॑: शि॒वेभि॑र्म॒हान्म॒हीभि॑रू॒तिभि॑: सर॒ण्यन् । अ॒स्मे र॒यिं ब॑हु॒लं संत॑रुत्रं सु॒वाचं॑ भा॒गं य॒शसं॑ कृधी नः ॥ आ नो गहि सख्येभिः शिवेभिर्महान्महीभिरूतिभिः सरण्यन् । अस्मे रयिं बहुलं संतरुत्रं सुवाचं भागं यशसं कृधी नः ॥
Come to us with friendly, auspicious, and mighty aids, you who are great and all-pervading; besto wupon us ample riches, safe from injury, well-spoken of, desirable, and renowned.
english translation
ए॒ता ते॑ अग्ने॒ जनि॑मा॒ सना॑नि॒ प्र पू॒र्व्याय॒ नूत॑नानि वोचम् । म॒हान्ति॒ वृष्णे॒ सव॑ना कृ॒तेमा जन्म॑ञ्जन्म॒न्निहि॑तो जा॒तवे॑दाः ॥ एता ते अग्ने जनिमा सनानि प्र पूर्व्याय नूतनानि वोचम् । महान्ति वृष्णे सवना कृतेमा जन्मञ्जन्मन्निहितो जातवेदाः ॥
I address to you, Agni, who are of old, these eternal as well as recent adorations; these solemn sacrifices are offered to the showerer of benefits, who in every birth is established (among men), cognizant of all that exists.
