Phaladeepika
विद्यासौख्यप्रतापः प्रचुरसुतयुतो मान्त्रिकः पञ्चमस्थे जातक्रोधो विवादिर्द्वीषि रिपुबलहन्तालसो निष्ठुरोक्तिः । प्राज्ञोऽस्ते चारुवेषः ससकलमहिमा याति भार्यां सवित्तां विख्याताख्यश्चिरायुः कुलभृदधिपतिर्ज्ञेऽष्टम दण्डनेता ॥ १२॥
If Mercury be in the 5 th house at a birth, the person concerned, will be learned, happy and 'courageous. He will have a good number of children and will be conversant with charms or spells. Mercury in the 6 th house makes the person born angry through disputes, harsh in speach and idle. The native will destroy the power of his enemies. When Mercury occupies the 7 th house, the person born will be learned; he will dress himself beautifully, will have all the greatness, and will have a rich lady as his wife. If Mercury should be posited in the 8 th house at a birth, the person concerned will be widely renowned, and longlived; he will be the supporter of his family, a lord and a commander of the army.
