Phaladeepika
शत्रुक्षेत्रे त्रिभागोनं दृश्यार्द्धहरणं तथा । त्र्यंशोनहरणं भङ्गे सूर्येन्द्वोः पातसंश्रयात् ॥ ३०॥
If a planet be posited in an inimical house, a reduction by a third should be effected. If a planet occupy any house in the visible half of the horizon, a similar reduction should be made. For a planet vanquished in planetary war or occupying a position within the Pata range of the Sun and the Moon, a reduction by a third should be made.
