सुखास्तदशमस्थितैरशुभकाव्यशीतांशुभिर्- व्ययाष्टतनयोदयेष्वशुभगेषु वंशक्षयः । मदे कविविदौ मतौ गुरुरसद्भिरंबुस्थितैः सुते शशिनि नैधनव्ययतनुस्थपापैरपि ॥ ६॥
The following 4 yogas lead to family extinction : (1) The 4 th, the 7 th and the 10 th houses in my nativity being occupied respectively by a malefic planet, Venus and the Moon; (2) the 12 th, the 8 th the 5 th and the first houses being occupied by malefics; ( 3 ) Venus and Mercury in the 7 th, Jupiter in the 5 th and malefics in the 4 ih houses ; and (4) the Moon in .the 5 th and malefics in the 8 th, the 12 th and the 1 st.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptपापे लग्ने लग्नपे पुत्रसंस्थे धीशे वीर्ये वेश्मनीन्दावपुत्रः । ओजर्क्षेशे पुत्रगे सूर्यदृष्टे चन्द्रे पुत्रक्लेशभाक् स्यादसूनुः ॥ ७॥
The following two yogas lead to affliction through children or barrenness: (1) a malefic in the Lagna, its lord in the 5 th. the lord of the 5 th in the 3 rd, and the Moon in an odd Rasi or Amsa in the 5 th and aspected by the Sun.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptमान्दं सुतर्क्षे यदि वाऽथबौधं मान्द्यर्कपुत्रान्वितवीक्षितं चेत् । दत्तात्मजः स्यादुदयास्तनाथ- संबन्धहीनो विबलः सुतेशः ॥ ८॥
If the 5 th bhava be a sign owned by Saturn or Mercury and is aspected by or associated with Mandi or Saturn, the person concerned will have a son by adoption, The same will be the result when the lord of the 5 th house is weak and is not connected in any way with the lords of the 1 st and the 7 th houses.

mAndaM sutarkSe yadi vA'thabaudhaM mAndyarkaputrAnvitavIkSitaM cet । dattAtmajaH syAdudayAstanAtha- saMbandhahIno vibalaH sutezaH ॥ 8॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनीचारिपूढोपगते सुतेशे रिःफारिरन्ध्राधिपसंयुते वा । सुतस्य नाशः कथितोऽत्र तज्ज्ञैः शुभैरदृष्टे सुतभे सुतेशे ॥ ९॥
If the lord of the 5 th house be in depression or in an inimical house or be eclipsed, or be in conjunction with the lords of the 12 th, the 6 th and the 8 th houses' the result will be the loss of children, say the astrologers. The same will be the case when the lord of the 5 th is posited in the 5 th and is not aspecied by benefics.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptसुतनाथजीवकुजभास्करेषु वै पुरुषंशकेषु च गतेषु कुत्रचित् । मुनयो वदन्ति बहुपुत्रतं तदा सुतनाथवीर्यवशतः सुपुत्रताम् ॥ १०॥
If in any nativity the lord of the 5 th house, Jupiter, Mars and the Sun are all posited in male Navamsas, they lead to the possession of a good number of children, so, the sages say, the nature-good or otherwise of the children being ascertained from the strength of the lord of the 5 th house.
