Egoism is the identification of the seer (Purusha) with the instrument of seeing (Body-mind).

जिसके द्वारा देखा जाता है अर्थात पुरुष व जिसके माध्यम से देखा जाता है अर्थात बुद्धि । इन दोनों को एक ही मानना अस्मिता कहलाती है ।
