सममब्राह्मणे दानं द्विगुणं ब्राह्मणब्रुवे । प्राधीते शतसाहस्रमनन्तं वेदपारगे ॥ ८५ ॥

sanskrit

A gift to one who is not a Brahmana (yields) the ordinary (reward; a gift) to one who calls himself a Brahmana, a double (reward); a gift to a well-read Brahmana, a hundred-thousandfold (reward); (a gift) to one who knows the Veda and the Angas (Vedaparaga, a reward) without end.

english translation

samamabrAhmaNe dAnaM dviguNaM brAhmaNabruve | prAdhIte zatasAhasramanantaM vedapArage || 85 ||
