योऽन्यथा सन्तमात्मानमन्यथा सत्सु भाषते । स पापकृत्तमो लोके स्तेन आत्मापहारकः ॥ २५५ ॥

He who describes himself to virtuous (men), in a manner contrary to truth, is the most sinful (wretch) in this world; he is a thief who makes away with his own self.

english translation

yo'nyathA santamAtmAnamanyathA satsu bhASate । sa pApakRttamo loke stena AtmApahArakaH ॥ 255 ॥
