Manusmriti
कृतौपनयनस्यास्य व्रतादेशनमिष्यते । ब्रह्मणो ग्रहणं चैव क्रमेण विधिपूर्वकम् ॥ १७३ ॥
The (student) who has been initiated must be instructed in the performance of the vows, and gradually learn the Veda, observing the prescribed rules.

kRtaupanayanasyAsya vratAdezanamiSyate । brahmaNo grahaNaM caiva krameNa vidhipUrvakam ॥ 173 ॥
