उत्पादकब्रह्मदात्रोर्गरीयान् ब्रह्मदः पिता । ब्रह्मजन्म हि विप्रस्य प्रेत्य चैह च शाश्वतम् ॥ १४६ ॥
Of him who gives natural birth and him who gives (the knowledge of) the Veda, the giver of the Veda is the more venerable father; for the birth for the sake of the Veda (ensures) eternal (rewards) both in this (life) and after death.

utpAdakabrahmadAtrorgarIyAn brahmadaH pitA | brahmajanma hi viprasya pretya caiha ca zAzvatam || 146 ||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकामान् माता पिता चैनं यदुत्पादयतो मिथः । सम्भूतिं तस्य तां विद्याद् यद् योनावभिजायते ॥ १४७ ॥
Let him consider that (he received) a (mere animal) existence, when his parents begat him through mutual affection, and when he was born from the womb (of his mother).
english translation
kAmAn mAtA pitA cainaM yadutpAdayato mithaH | sambhUtiM tasya tAM vidyAd yad yonAvabhijAyate || 147 ||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआचार्यस्त्वस्य यां जातिं विधिवद् वेदपारगः । उत्पादयति सावित्र्या सा सत्या साऽजराऽमरा ॥ १४८ ॥
But that birth which a teacher acquainted with the whole Veda, in accordance with the law, procures for him through the Savitri, is real, exempt from age and death.

AcAryastvasya yAM jAtiM vidhivad vedapAragaH | utpAdayati sAvitryA sA satyA sA'jarA'marA || 148 ||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअल्पं वा बहु वा यस्य श्रुतस्यौपकरोति यः । तमपीह गुरुं विद्यात्श्रुतौपक्रियया तया ॥ १४९ ॥
(The pupil) must know that that man also who benefits him by (instruction in) the Veda, be it little or much, is called in these (Institutes) his Guru, in consequence of that benefit (conferred by instruction in) the Veda.

alpaM vA bahu vA yasya zrutasyaupakaroti yaH | tamapIha guruM vidyAtzrutaupakriyayA tayA || 149 ||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptब्राह्मस्य जन्मनः कर्ता स्वधर्मस्य च शासिता । बालोऽपि विप्रो वृद्धस्य पिता भवति धर्मतः ॥ १५० ॥
That Brahmana who is the giver of the birth for the sake of the Veda and the teacher of the prescribed duties becomes by law the father of an aged man, even though he himself be a child.
