Charak Samhita
पित्तश्लेष्मणिशस्यन्तेसूपेष्वालेपनेषुच। तेषांमसूरःसङ्ग्राहीकलायोवातलःपरम् ॥२९॥
They are recommended in pitta and kapha conditions and in preparation of nourishing soups and ointments. Amongst these two, the lentil is astringent in action while the vetchling excessively stimulate vata.
