Charak Samhita
मधुरंपित्तनुत्तेषांपूर्वंदाडिममुत्तमम्। वृक्षाम्लंग्राहिरूक्षोष्णंवातश्लेष्मणिशस्यते ॥१५१॥
The pomegranate which is dry and acid aggravates pitta and vata, the sweet one is effective in treating pitta. So, the qualities of pomegranate are described first.
