पुरुषः पुरुषाद्गौर्गोरश्वादश्वः प्रजायते। पित्र्या मेहादयश्चोक्ता रोगास्तावत्र कारणम् ॥१७॥
A human is born of a human (parents), the cow is born of cows, and the horse is born of horses. Diseases such as prameha (obstinate urinary diseases), and various other diseases, are considered to be hereditary. Therefore, the father and the mother (parents) are the origin of the humans and also the diseases.
