उत्तानदेहश्च कृतोपधानः स्याद्वीर्यमाप्नोति तथाऽस्य देहम् । एकोऽपकर्षत्यनिलं स्वमार्गात् पित्तं द्वितीयस्तु कफं तृतीयः॥२६॥
The patient should lie supine on bed with his body in a raised position by means of a pillow in such a way that the effect of the enema pervades the whole body. The first enema helps in the elimination of vata, the second enema helps in the elimination of pitta, and the third enema helps in the elimination of kapha from their ashaya (locations).
