इन्द्रियाणि यथा जन्तोः परीक्षेत विशेषवित्। ज्ञातुमिच्छन् भिषङ्मानमायुषस्तन्निबोधत ॥३॥

॥ Importance of examination using senses and inference॥ We will now explain how an expert physician who is desirous to know the life span of the person. He should go with keen observations of the sensory perceptions by a patient.

english translation

indriyANi yathA jantoH parIkSeta vizeSavit। jJAtumicchan bhiSaGmAnamAyuSastannibodhata ॥3॥
