स दूष्यः सर्वभूतानां निन्द्यश्चाग्राह्य एव च । व्यसनित्वादुदर्के च स दुःखं व्याधिमश्नुते ॥५१॥
He will become hated and non acceptable among the people, and because of addiction will consequently attain a stage of painful diseases afterwards.
english translation
sa dUSyaH sarvabhUtAnAM nindyazcAgrAhya eva ca । vyasanitvAdudarke ca sa duHkhaM vyAdhimaznute ॥51॥

॥ Overall effects of madya॥ The credit, in this life and in life after death and utmost credit in salvation depends upon the meditation state of mind of all human beings.

pretya ceha ca yacchreyaH zreyo mokSe ca yat param । manaHsamAdhau tat sarvamAyattaM sarvadehinAm ॥52॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमद्येन मनसश्चास्य सङ्क्षोभः क्रियते महान् । महामारुतवेगेन तटस्थस्येव शाखिनः ॥५३॥
The liquor causes significant agitation of the mind like a storm causes to a tree. An ignorant person being influenced by rajas and tamas gets addicted to the liquor goes willingly towards the major defects and major diseases.

madyena manasazcAsya saGkSobhaH kriyate mahAn । mahAmArutavegena taTasthasyeva zAkhinaH ॥53॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमद्यप्रसङ्गं तं चाज्ञा महादोषं महागदम् । सुखमित्यधिगच्छन्ति रजोमोहपराजिताः ॥५४॥
An ignorant person being influenced by rajas and tamas gets addicted to the liquor goes willingly towards the major defects and major diseases.

madyaprasaGgaM taM cAjJA mahAdoSaM mahAgadam । sukhamityadhigacchanti rajomohaparAjitAH ॥54॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमद्योपहतविज्ञाना वियुक्ताः सात्त्विकैर्गुणैः । श्रेयोभिर्विप्रयुज्यन्ते मदान्धा मदलालसाः ॥५५॥
Intoxicated by the liquor, affecting the sattvik qualities, the person becomes blind through alcoholism and addicted to the liquor; consequently gets deprived of all credits.

madyopahatavijJAnA viyuktAH sAttvikairguNaiH । zreyobhirviprayujyante madAndhA madalAlasAH ॥55॥
