योगान्तिकाइति मूलं द्वे चऽषाढे गतिः सुतस्यैन्दोः ॥ घोरा श्रवणस्त्वाष्ट्रं वसुदैवं वारुणं चएव ॥ ७-११ ॥

If Mercury should pass through the constellations of Mūla and the two Āṣāḍhas, his course is known as Yogāntika. If such course should lie through the constellations of Śravaṇa, Citrā, Dhaniṣṭhā and Stvāṣṭra, it is known as Ghora.

पापऽख्या सावित्रं मैत्रं शक्राग्निदैवतं चैति । उदयप्रवासदिवसैः स एव गतिलक्षणं प्राह ॥ ७-१२ ॥

If Mercury should pass through the constellations of Hasta, Anurādhā, Jyeṣṭhā, sacred respectively to the Sun, to Mitra and to Indra, his course is known as Pāpa. We now proceed to state the periods, in days, of the effects of Mercury’s reappearance in, and course through, particular lunar mansions.

चत्वारिंशत्(४०) त्रिंशद्(३०) द्विसमेता विंशतिर्(२२) द्विनवकं(१८) च । नव(९) मासार्धं(१५) दश चएकसंयुताः(११) प्राकृताद्यानाम् ॥ ७-१३ ॥

The effects of the Prākṛta and other courses of Mercury described above will last respectively for 40, 30, 22, 18, 9, 15 and 11 days.

catvAriMzat(40) triMzad(30) dvisametA viMzatir(22) dvinavakaM(18) ca । nava(9) mAsArdhaM(15) daza caekasaMyutAH(11) prAkRtAdyAnAm ॥ 7-13 ॥

प्राकृतगत्यां आरोग्यवृष्टिसस्यप्रवृद्धयः क्षेमम् । संक्षिप्तमिश्रयोर्मिश्रं एतदन्यासु विपरीतम् ॥ ७-१४ ॥

When Mercury is in his Prākṛta course, there will be increase of health, of rain, of crops and there will be prosperity in the land. If he should be either in his Saṃkṣipta or Miśra course, mankind will be partly happy and partly miserable. When in his remaining four courses, Mercury brings on adversity.

ऋज्वीअतिवक्रावक्रा विकला च मतेन देवलस्यएताः । पञ्चचतुर्द्व्येकाहा ऋज्व्यादीनां षडभ्यस्ताः ॥ ७-१५ ॥

According to Devata, the effects of the Ṛjvya (direct), the Ativakra (over retrograde), the Vakra (retrograde) and the Vikala (of irregular rate) motions of Mercury will last respectively for 30, 24, 12 and 6 days.
