आषाढ्यां समतुलिताधिवासितानाम् अन्येद्युर्यदधिकतां उपैति बीजम् । तद्वृद्धिर्भवति न जायते यदूनं मन्त्रो अस्मिन्भवति तुलाभिमन्त्रणाय ॥ २६-०१ ॥
On the day when the Moon passes through the asterism of Uttarāṣāḍha in the lunar month of Āṣāḍha, the Jyotiṣaka shall weigh quantities of all seeds; if on weighing them again on the next day, any seeds should be found to weigh more, these crops will flourish. The weighing should be accompanied with following mantras to be addressed to the weighing-machine.
english translation
ASADhyAM samatulitAdhivAsitAnAm anyedyuryadadhikatAM upaiti bIjam । tadvRddhirbhavati na jAyate yadUnaM mantro asminbhavati tulAbhimantraNAya ॥ 26-01 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्तोतव्या मन्त्रयोगेन सत्या देवी सरस्वती । दर्शयिष्यसि यत्सत्यं सत्ये सत्यव्रता ह्यसि ॥ २६-०२ ॥
“O Sarasvatī! O Goddess of Truth! You are deserving of praise. You are now going to show that what is real truth. O Truth! You are ever truthful.
english translation
stotavyA mantrayogena satyA devI sarasvatI । darzayiSyasi yatsatyaM satye satyavratA hyasi ॥ 26-02 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयेन सत्येन चन्द्रार्कौ ग्रहा ज्योतिर्गणास्तथा । उत्तिष्ठन्तीह पूर्वेण पश्चादस्तं व्रजन्ति च ॥ २६-०३ ॥
By the power of that truth, the Moon and the Sun, the planets, and the hosts of stars rise here in the east and thereafter proceed to set in the west.
english translation
yena satyena candrArkau grahA jyotirgaNAstathA । uttiSThantIha pUrveNa pazcAdastaM vrajanti ca ॥ 26-03 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयत्सत्यं सर्ववेदेषु यत्सत्यं ब्रह्मवादिषु । यत्सत्यं त्रिषु लोकेषु तत्सत्यं इह दृश्यताम् ॥ २६-०४ ॥
That truth which exists in all the Vedas, that truth which is upheld by the teachers of Brahman, that truth which prevails in the three worlds may that very truth be manifest here.
english translation
yatsatyaM sarvavedeSu yatsatyaM brahmavAdiSu । yatsatyaM triSu lokeSu tatsatyaM iha dRzyatAm ॥ 26-04 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptब्रह्मणो दुहितासि त्वं आदित्यैति प्रकीर्तिता । काश्यपी गोत्रतश्चएव नामतो विश्रुता तुला ॥ २६-०५ ॥
You are the daughter of Brahmā; You are sung as Āditya; Your Gotra (family) name is Kāśyapī and your simple name is Tulā (weighing-machine).”
english translation
brahmaNo duhitAsi tvaM Adityaiti prakIrtitA । kAzyapI gotratazcaeva nAmato vizrutA tulA ॥ 26-05 ॥
