तत्कालमिन्दुसहितो द्विरसांशको यस्तत्तुल्यराशिसहिते पुरत:शशाङ्के ॥ यावानुदेति दिनरात्रिसमानभाग-स्तावद्ग्रते दिननिशो:प्रवर्दान्त जन्म ॥ ४-२१ ॥
At that time, the twelfth portion, which is together with the Moon, when the Moon is in conjunction with the zodiac similar to that, they (the children) are considered born. उदयति मृदुभांशे सप्तमस्थे च मन्दे यदि भवति निषेक: सूतिरब्दत्रयेण ॥ शशिनि तु विधिरेष द्वादशेऽब्दे प्रकुर्यान्निगदितमिह? चिन्त्यं सूतिकालेऽपि युक्त्या ॥ ४-२२ ॥
