वर्षर्तुमासतिथयो द्युनिशं ह्युडूनि वेलोदयर्क्षनवभागविकल्पना स्यु: ॥ भूयो दशदिगुणिता: स्वविकल्पभक्ता वर्षादयो नवकदानविशोधनाभ्याम् ॥ २६-११ ॥
The year, season, month, tithi, and indeed the night or day related to the nakshatras in the rising time, those various portions of the navamshas of zodiac signs moreover should be multiplied by 10, etc., divided by one’s variety, and with adding or subtracting nine are the the year, et cetera.

विज्ञेया दशकेष्वब्दा ऋतुमासस्तयैव च ॥ अष्टकेष्वपि मासार्द्धास्तिथयश्च तथा स्मृता: ॥ २६-१२ ॥
Among those consisting of 10 are to be known as the years, seasons, and months. And thus among those consisting of 8 are recollected as the fortnight and tithi.

दिवारात्रिप्रसूतिं च नक्षत्रानयनं तथा ॥ सप्तकेष्वपि वर्गेषु नित्यमेवोपलक्षयेत् ॥ २६-१३ ॥
Always indeed thus one should consider the day or night birth and calculating the nakshatra in the group of seven.

वेलामथ विलग्नं च होरामंशकमेव च ॥ पञ्चकेषु विजानीयान्नष्टजातकसिद्धये ॥ २६-१४ ॥
Then among those consisting of five one should know the time, lagna, hora, and indeed the navamsha for the reconstruction of a lost horoscope.

संस्कारनाममात्रा द्विगुणा छायांगुलै: समायुक्ता: ॥ शेषं त्रिनवकभक्तान्नक्षुत्रं तद्धनिष्ठादि ॥ २६-१५ ॥
The mantras in a name from one’s naming ceremony is multiplied by two with those (added to) the digits of the shadow and joined to the remainder divided by 27, is that nakshatra beginning with Dhanishtha nakshatra.
