क्रूर: सौम्य: पुरुषवनिते ते चरागद्विदेहा: प्रागादीशा: क्रियवृषनृयुक्कर्कटा: सत्रिकोणा: ॥ मार्तण्डेन्द्वोरयुजि समभे चन्द्रभान्वोश्च होरे दृक्काणा: स्यु: स्वभवनसुतत्रित्रिकोणाधिपानाम् ॥ १-११ ॥
The odd signs (1,3,5,7,9 and 11) are considered male and aggressive while the even signs (2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12) are considered as "Female Gentle" signs.
