Astanga Hrudaya
लिह्यात् क्षीरघृतं खादेच्छृङ्गाटककसेरुकम्। पिबेत्कान्ताब्जशालूकबालोदुम्बरवत्पयः॥४॥
Abja (Nelumbo nucifera Kamala), Shaluka (roots of Nymphoea stellata), Bala udumbara (unripe fruit of Ficus glomerata), Shali (rice), two bala (Sida cordifolia and Abuliton indicum), Madhuka (Madhuca longifolia) and Ikshu (Saccharum officinarum sugarcane); dish prepared from red rice mixed with honey and sugar should be partaken along with milk or juice of meat of animals of desert-like land, blood letting should be done without administering purificatory therapies.
