Astanga Hrudaya
बलापटोलीलघुपञ्चमूल- त्रायन्तिकैरण्डयवात्सुसिद्धात्। प्रस्थो रसाच्छागरसार्धयुक्तः साध्यः पुनः प्रस्थसमः स यावत्॥५॥
One prastha (approx. 768 ml) of a well-prepared decoction of balā (Sida cordifolia), paṭola (Trichosanthes dioica), the laghupañcamūla (five lesser roots), trāyantikā (Gentiana kurroo / Thalictrum foliolosum), eraṇḍa (Ricinus communis), and yava (barley), is combined with half a prastha (approx. 384 ml) of goat meat soup (chāga-rasa). This mixture is boiled together again until it is reduced back to the volume of one prastha.
