पित्तातिसारज्वरशोफगुल्मसमीरणास्रग्रहणीविकारान् । जयत्ययं शीघ्रमतिप्रवृत्तिं विरेचनास्थापनयोश्च वस्तिः ॥ ७६ ॥
This particular enema quickly cures pittātisāra (diarrhea of pitta origin), jvara (fever), śopha (edema), gulma (abdominal tumors), samīraṇāsra (gout/vatarakta), and grahaṇī vikāra (malabsorption/duodenal disorders), as well as excessive complications arising from over-purgation (virecana-atipravṛtti) or over-administration of decoction enemas (āsthāpana-atipravṛtti).

Inspissated juice of sugarcane and seeds of kuṭaja – Holarrhena antidysenterica added with herbs of vatsakadi group and ambasthadi gana (chapter 15 of sutrasthana) mixed with honey cures all types of diarrhoea.

The patient of diarrhea who is not having painand also no ama,whoeliminates feces mixed with bloodfor long time,and of any coloursand having good digestive powershould be treated withputapaka (explained further).

nIruGnirAmaM dIptAgnerapi sAsraM cirotthitam । nAnAvarNamatIsAraM puTapAkairupAcaret ॥ 78 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptत्वक्पिण्डाद्दीर्घवृन्तस्य श्रीपर्णीपत्रसंवृतात् । मृल्लिप्तादग्निना स्विन्नाद्रसं निष्पीडितं हिमम् ॥ ७९ ॥
A bolus made from the paste of the bark of dīrghavṛnta – Oroxylum indicum is wrapped with the leaves of śrīparṇī – Gmelina arborea, coated with clay, and roasted in fire. Once cooked, it is allowed to cool, and the juice is extracted by squeezing the mass.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptअतीसारी पिबेद्युक्तं मधुना सितयाऽथवा । एवं क्षीरिद्रुमत्वग्भिस्तत्प्ररोहैश्च कल्पयेत् ॥८०॥
The patient suffering from diarrhea should drink this cooled juice mixed with either honey or sugar. Similarly, this formulation can be prepared using the bark and tender sprouts of kṣīridruma (trees yielding milky sap/Pancha Valkala).
