hk transliteration by Sanscriptलेहोऽयं गुल्महृद्रोगदुर्नामश्वासकासजित् । शमनं च पिबेद्धूमं शोधनं बहले कफे ॥ ६७ ॥
This confection cures abdominal tumors, heart disease, hemorrhoids, dyspnea, and cough. For the cure of Kaphaja Kasa, Samana dhuma (palliative herbal smoke inhalation which mitigates the Doshas) should be inhaled, and Shodhana dhuma (purificatory smoke inhalation) should be used when the Kapha is particularly thick and deep-seated.

Smoke of realgar (manahshila), orpiment (ala), Glycyrrhiza glabra, Nardostachys jatamansi, Cyperus rotundus, and the bark of Balanites aegyptiaca should be inhaled together following the prescribed procedure for cough-alleviating smoke (Kasaghna Dhuma). After inhalation, one should drink milk.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptनिष्ठ्यूतान्ते गुडयुतं कोष्णं धूमो निहन्ति सः । वातश्लेष्मोत्तरान्कासानचिरेण चिरन्तनान् ॥ ६९ ॥
After expectorating the sputum completely, warm milk mixed with jaggery should be consumed. This smoke inhalation therapy quickly cures even long-standing, chronic coughs that have a predominance of Vata and Kapha.

In the course of Kaphakasa, there appears Tamaka (a variety of svasa/ Dysponea) arising from Pitta as secondary dosha. Then the methods of treatment prescribed for Pittaja kasa (cough of pitta origin) should be administered as appropriate to the stage of the disease).
