मधुतैलयुता लेहास्त्रयो वातानुगे कफे । द्वे पले दाडिमादष्टौ गुडाद्व्योषात्पलत्रयम् ॥ ५१ ॥
These three confections, mixed with honey and sesame oil, cure cough born of kapha followed by Vata. Two pala of dadima (Punica granatum), eight pala of Guda (jaggery), three Pala of Piper longum, Piper nigrum and Zingiber officinale (made into a fine powder and licked),

रोचनं दीपनं स्वर्यं पीनसश्वासकासजित् । गुडक्षारोषणकणादाडिमं श्वासकासजित् ॥ ५२ ॥
improves taste, kindles digestive fire, improves the voice and cures nasal catarrh, dyspnoea and cough. Powder of Guda (jaggery), alkali of Hordeum vulgare, Piper nigrum, Piper longum and Punica granatum cures dyspnea and cough.

क्रमात् पलद्वयार्धाक्षकर्षार्धाक्षपलोन्मितम् । पिबेज्ज्वरोक्तं पथ्यादि सशृङ्गीकं च पाचनम् ॥ ५३ ॥
These are to be taken in the proportion of 96 g, 6 g, 12 g, 24 g and 48 g respectively. The digestive Pathyadi decoction described in the Jwara chapter, mixed with Srngi (Pistacia chinensis) should be consumed;

अथवा दीप्यकत्रिवृद्विशालाघनपौष्करम् । सकणं क्वथितं मूत्रे कफकासी जलेऽपि वा ॥ ५४ ॥
or a decoction of Cuminum cyminum, Operculina turpethum, Citrullus colocynthis, Cyperus rotundus, Inula racemosa and Piper longum boiled either in cow’s urine or water may be consumed by the patient of Kaphaja Kasa.

तैलभृष्टं च वैदेहीकल्काक्षं ससितोपलम् । पाययेत् कफकासघ्नं कुलत्थसलिलाप्लुतम् ॥ ५५ ॥
Paste of Piper longum – 12 g fried in sesame oil and soaked in water decoction of Dolichos biflorus and mixed with sugar should be consumed for the cough of Kapha origin.
