मधुयष्ट्याः पलशतं कषाये पादशेषिते । तैलाढकं समक्षीरं पचेत्कल्कैः पलोन्मितैः ॥ ४१ ॥
One hundred pala (4.8 Kg) of madhuyaṣṭī – Glycyrrhiza glabra is boiled in water and the decoction is reduced to one-fourth. To this, one adhaka (3 litres 72 ml) of oil, an equal quantity of milk, and the paste of one pala (48 grams) each of the following herbs are added and cooked to prepare the medicated oil:

sthirā – Desmodium gangeticum, tāmalakī – Phyllanthus niruri, dūrvā – Cynodon dactylon, payasyā – Ipomoea digitata / Calotropis gigantea, abhīru – Asparagus racemosus, candana – Santalum album, loha (aguru) – Aquilaria agallocha, haṃsapadī – Adiantum lunulatum, māṃsī – Nardostachys jatamansi, the two medā (Meda – Polygonatum verticillatum and Mahameda – Polygonatum cirrhifolium), and madhuparṇī – Tinospora cordifolia;

prapauṇḍarīka – Nymphaea lotus, mañjiṣṭhā – Rubia cordifolia, śārivā – Hemidesmus indicus, aindrī – Citrullus colocynthis, and vitunnaka (dhānyaka) – Coriandrum sativum. This oil, when used in four distinct modes of administration (ingestion, nasal drops, massage/massage oil enema, and decoction enema), cures Vatarakta (gout), disorders of Pitta origin, burning sensations, and fever.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptबलाकषायकल्काभ्यां तैलं क्षीरसमं पचेत् । सहस्रशतपाकं तद्वातासृग्वातरोगनुत् ॥ ४५ ॥
Medicated oil should be processed and cooked with the decoction (kashaya) and paste (kalka) of balā – Sida cordifolia, along with an equal quantity of milk. This formulation can be processed a hundred times (shatapaka) or a thousand times (sahasrapaka) to cure Vatarakta (gout) and all other disorders of Vata origin.
