श्वासातीसारसम्मोहहृद्रोगविषमज्वरान् । पिप्पलीभिर्युतान् गालान् कलिङ्गैर्मधुकेन वा ॥ ६ ॥

If Vamana is administered in contra indicated people, then it causes dyspnoea, diarrhoea, delusion, heart diseases and intermittent fevers. Gala (Madanaphala – Randia dumetorum) mixed with either Pippali (Piper longum), Kalinga (seeds of Holarrhena antisysenterica) or Madhuka (Glycyrrhiza glabra), should be consumed either with honey or with salt or with hot water.

उष्णाम्भसा समधुना पिबेत्सलवणेन वा । पटोलनिम्बकर्कोटवेत्रपत्रोदकेन वा ॥ ७ ॥

Water boiled with Patola (Trichosanthes dioica), Nimba (Azadirachta indica), Karkota (Momordica dioica), or Vetrapatra (Calamus rotang) can be administered for vamana,

तर्पणेन रसेनेक्षोर्मद्यैः कल्पोदितानि वा । वमनानि प्रयुञ्जीत बलकालविभागवित् ॥ ८ ॥

or with nutrient materials or sugarcane juice, or by wines; or by other methods described in Kalpasthana (chapter 1, verses 118), thus the emesis therapy should be administered, carefully considering the strength (of the patient and the disease) and time (season, period of the day).

कृतेऽकृते वा वमने ज्वरी कुर्याद्विशोषणम् । दोषाणां समुदीर्णानां पाचनाय शमाय च ॥ ९ ॥

Whether emesis therapy is administered or not, the patient of fever should undergo fasting, for cooking the increased Doshas and also for mitigating them.

दोषेण भस्मनेवाग्नौ छन्नेऽन्नं न विपच्यते । तस्मादादोषपचनाज्ज्वरितानुपवासयेत् ॥ १० ॥

Like the fire covered with ash, does not cook the food, similarly the digestive fire covered with the aggravated Doshas; so the patient of fever should be made to fast till the Doshas get fully cooked.
