तस्याग्निर्दीप्यते ताभिः समिद्भिरिव पावकः । प्राग्लाजपेयां सुजरां सशुण्ठीधान्यपिप्पलीम् ॥ २६ ॥

By Peyas, his digestive fire gets increased, just as the fire, by the faggots (small pieces of wood). First, Laja Peya (thin gruel prepared with fried paddy, processed with Shunti (Zingiber officinale), Coriandrum sattivum, Piper longum with rock salt which is easily digestable, should be consumed.

ससैन्धवां तथाऽम्लार्थी तां पिबेत् सहदाडिमाम् । सृष्टविड्बहुपित्तो वा सशुण्ठीमाक्षिकां हिमाम् ॥ २७ ॥

Those desirous of sour taste may take it with Punica granatum. If there is diarrhoea or excess feces formation or great increase of Pitta, cold infusion prepared with Zingiber officinale honey should be administered.

वस्तिपार्श्वशिरःशूली व्याघ्रीगोक्षुरसाधिताम् । पृश्निपर्णीबलाबिल्वनागरोत्पलधान्यकैः ॥ २८ ॥

If there is pain in the region of the bladder, flanks and head, Peya can be boiled with Vyaghri (Solanum xanthocarpum) and Goksura (Tribulus terrestris). If fever is associated with dysentery / diarrhea, Sour Peya which promotes digestion strength and digests Ama, prepared with Uraria picta, Sida cordifolia, Aegle marmelos, Zingiber officinale, Nymphaea stellata and Coriandrum sativum.

पञ्चमूलेन महता कफार्तो यवसाधिताम् । विबद्धवर्चाः सयवां पिप्पल्यामलकैः कृतां ॥ ३० ॥

He, who has predominance of Kapha should consume yavagu processed with Yava (Hordeum vulgare), and 5 roots of Mahat Pancamula (roots fo Aegle marmelos, Clerodendrum phlomidis, Oroxylum indicum, Stereospermum suaveolens and Gmelina arborea). If there is constipation, Yavagu prepared with Yava (Hordeum vulgare), Piper longum, Emblica officinalis, fried in ghee this helps in elimination of feces and the Doshas.
