Arthashastra
उपेक्षितम् अशक्त्या वा प्रार्थयित्वा विरोधितम् ॥ कृच्छ्रेण साध्यते मित्रं सिद्धं च आशु विरज्यति ॥
A friend who has voluntarily paid much or who is made by another to pay much (to his ally); a friend who is kept under pressure, or who, having broken the bond of friendship, sought friendship with another;
english translation
upekSitam azaktyA vA prArthayitvA virodhitam ॥ kRcchreNa sAdhyate mitraM siddhaM ca Azu virajyati ॥
