Arthashastra
पाने तु शब्द आदीनाम् इन्द्रिय अर्थानाम् उपभोगः प्रीति दानं परिजन पूजनं कर्म श्रम वधश् च" इति ॥
whereas in drinking, the enjoyment of sound and other objects of the senses, pleasing other people, honouring the followers, and relaxation from the fatigue of work (are the advantages).
english translation
pAne tu zabda AdInAm indriya arthAnAm upabhogaH prIti dAnaM parijana pUjanaM karma zrama vadhaz ca" iti ॥
