तस्माद् अरि षड् वर्ग त्यागेन इन्द्रिय जयं कुर्वीत, वृद्ध सम्योगेन प्रज्ञाम्, चारेण चक्षुः, उत्थानेन योग क्षेम साधनम्, कार्य अनुशासनेन स्वधर्म स्थापनम्, विनयं विद्या उपदेशेन, लोक प्रियत्वम् अर्थ सम्योगेन वृत्तिम् ॥
HENCE by overthrowing the aggregate of the six enemies, he shall restrain the organs of sense; acquire wisdom by keeping company with the aged; see through his spies; establish safety and security by being ever active; maintain his subjects in the observance of their respective duties by exercising authority; keep up his personal discipline by receiving lessons in the sciences; and endear himself to the people by bringing them in contact with wealth and doing good to them.

एवं वश्य इन्द्रियः पर स्त्री द्रव्य हिंसाश् च वर्जयेत्, स्वप्नं लौल्यम् अनृतम् उद्धत वेषत्वम् अनर्थ्य सम्योगम् अधर्म सम्युक्तम् अनर्थ सम्युक्तं च व्यवहारम् ॥
Thus with his organs of sense under his control, he shall keep away from hurting the women and property of others; avoid not only lustfulness, even in dream, but also falsehood, haughtiness, and evil proclivities; and keep away from unrighteous and uneconomical transactions.

धर्म अर्थ अविरोधेन कामं सेवेत, न निह्सुखः स्यात् ॥
Not violating righteousness and economy, he shall enjoy his desires. He shall never be devoid of happiness.

समं वा त्रिवर्गम् अन्योन्य अनुबद्धम् ॥
He may enjoy in an equal degree the three pursuits of life, charity, wealth, and desire, which are inter-dependent upon each other.

एको ह्य् अत्यासेवितो धर्म अर्थ कामानाम् आत्मानम् इतरौ च पीडयति ॥
Any one of these three, when enjoyed to an excess, hurts not only the other two, but also itself.
