"नवं शरावं सलिलस्य पूर्णं सुसंस्कृतं दर्भ कृत उत्तरीयम् । तत् तस्य मा भून् नरकं च गच्छेद् यो भर्तृ पिण्डस्य कृते न युध्येत् इति ॥
Let not a new vessel filled with water, consecrated and covered over with darbha grass be the acquisition of that man who does not fight in return for the subsistence received by him from his master, and who is therefore destined to go to hell.
english translation
"navaM zarAvaM salilasya pUrNaM susaMskRtaM darbha kRta uttarIyam । tat tasya mA bhUn narakaM ca gacched yo bhartR piNDasya kRte na yudhyet iti ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमन्त्रि पुरोहिताभ्याम् उत्साहयेद् योधान् व्यूह सम्पदा ॥
Through the assistance of his counselor and domestic priest, he should inspire the warriors by means of an excellently arranged battle formation.

mantri purohitAbhyAm utsAhayed yodhAn vyUha sampadA ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकार्तान्तिक आदिश् च अस्य वर्गः सर्वज्ञ दैवत सम्योग ख्यापनाभ्यां स्व पक्षम् उद्धर्षयेत्, पर पक्षं च उद्वेजयेत् ॥
his power to associate with gods, and his omnisciency; and they should at the same time frighten the enemy.

kArtAntika Adiz ca asya vargaH sarvajJa daivata samyoga khyApanAbhyAM sva pakSam uddharSayet, para pakSaM ca udvejayet ॥

The day before the battle, the king should fast and lie down on his chariot with weapons.
