वणिक् पथेन हि दण्ड गूढ पुरुष अतिनयनं शस्त्र आवरण यान वाहन क्रयश् च क्रियते, प्रवेशो निर्णयनं च ॥

sanskrit

for it is through the roads of traffic that armies and spies are led (from one country to another); and that weapons, armour, chariots, and draught-animals are purchased. and that entrance and exit (in travelling) are facilitated.

english translation

vaNik pathena hi daNDa gUDha puruSa atinayanaM zastra AvaraNa yAna vAhana krayaz ca kriyate, pravezo nirNayanaM ca ॥
