अन्यथा निचितम् एषां पण्य अध्यक्षो गृह्णीयात् ॥

तेन धान्य पण्य विक्रये व्यवहरेत अनुग्रहेण प्रजानाम् ॥
Hence shall merchants be favourably disposed towards the people in selling grains and other commodities.

अनुज्ञात क्रयाद् उपरि च एषां स्व देशीयानां पण्यानां पञ्चकं शतम् आजीवं स्थापयेत्, पर देशीयानां दशकम् ॥
The Superintendent of Commerce shall fix a profit of five per cent over and above the fixed price of local commodities, and ten per cent on foreign produce.

ततः परम् अर्घं वर्धयतां क्रये विक्रये वा भावयतां पण शते पञ्च पणाद् द्वि शतो दण्डः ॥
Merchants who enchance the price or realise profit even to the extent of half a pana more than the above in the sale or purchase of commodities shall be punished with a fine of from five panas in case of realising 100 panas up to 200 panas.

तेन अर्घ वृद्धौ दण्ड वृद्धिर् व्याख्याता ॥
Fines for greater enhancement shall be proportionally increased.
