दण्डेन वा प्रयातुम् इच्छेन् न विजिगीषुणा तथा अप्य् एनम् उभयतः सम्पीडनेन घातयेत् ॥
If the enemy likes to march alone with his army, but not in company with the conqueror, then he may be hemmed in between two forces and destroyed.
english translation
daNDena vA prayAtum icchen na vijigISuNA tathA apy enam ubhayataH sampIDanena ghAtayet ॥
