तेन मृगया कामो व्याख्यातः ॥
This explains the fate of kings addicted to hunting.

tena mRgayA kAmo vyAkhyAtaH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptद्रव्य स्त्री लोलुपम् आढ्य विधवाभिर् वा परम रूप यौवनाभिः स्त्रीभिर् दाय निक्षेप अर्थम् उपनीताभिः सत्त्रिणः प्रलोभयेयुः ॥
When the enemy is fond of wealth or women, he may be beguiled at the sight of rich and beautiful widows brought before him with a plaint for the recovery of a deposit kept by them in the custody of one of their kinsmen.
english translation
dravya strI lolupam ADhya vidhavAbhir vA parama rUpa yauvanAbhiH strIbhir dAya nikSepa artham upanItAbhiH sattriNaH pralobhayeyuH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रतिपन्नं रात्रौ सत्त्रच् छन्नाः समागमे शस्त्र रसाभ्यां घातयेयुः ॥
and when he comes to meet with a woman at night as arranged, hidden spies may kill him with weapons or poison.
english translation
pratipannaM rAtrau sattrac channAH samAgame zastra rasAbhyAM ghAtayeyuH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसिद्ध प्रव्रजित चैत्य स्तूप दैवत प्रतिमानाम् अभीक्ष्ण अभिगमनेषु वा भूमि गृह सुरुङ्ग आरूढ भित्ति प्रविष्टास् तीक्ष्णाः परम् अभिहन्युः ॥
When the enemy is in the habit of paying frequent visits to ascetics, altars, sacred pillars (stúpa), and images of gods, spies hidden in underground chambers or in subterranean passages, or inside the walls, may strike him down.
english translation
siddha pravrajita caitya stUpa daivata pratimAnAm abhIkSNa abhigamaneSu vA bhUmi gRha suruGga ArUDha bhitti praviSTAs tIkSNAH param abhihanyuH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयेषु देशेषु याः प्रेक्षाः प्रेक्षते पार्थिवः स्वयम् । यात्रा विहारे रमते यत्र क्रीडति वा अम्भसि ॥
Whatever may be the sights or spectacles which the king goes in person to witness; wherever he may engage himself in sports or in swimming in water.
english translation
yeSu dezeSu yAH prekSAH prekSate pArthivaH svayam । yAtrA vihAre ramate yatra krIDati vA ambhasi ॥
