मुण्डो जटिलो वा पर्वत गुह आवासी चतुर् वर्ष शत आयुर् ब्रुवाणः प्रभूत जटिल अन्ते वासी नगर अभ्याशे तिष्ठेत् ॥
AN ascetic, with shaved head or braided hair and living in the cave of a mountain, may pretend to be four hundred years old, and, followed by a number of disciples with braided hair, halt in the vicinity of the capital city of the enemy.
english translation
muNDo jaTilo vA parvata guha AvAsI catur varSa zata Ayur bruvANaH prabhUta jaTila ante vAsI nagara abhyAze tiSThet ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशिष्याश् च अस्य मूल फल उपगमनैर् अमात्यान् राजानं च भगवद् दर्शनाय योजयेयुः ॥
The disciples of the ascetic may make presentations of roots and fruits to the king and his ministers and invite them to pay a visit to the venerable ascetic.

ziSyAz ca asya mUla phala upagamanair amAtyAn rAjAnaM ca bhagavad darzanAya yojayeyuH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसमागताश् च राज्ञा पूर्व राज देश अभिज्ञानानि कथयेत्, "शते शते च वर्षाणां पूर्णे अहम् अग्निं प्रविश्य पुनर् बालो भवामि, तद् इह भवत् समीपे चतुर्थम् अग्निं प्रवेक्ष्यामि, अवश्यं मे भवान् मानयितव्यः, त्रीन् वरान् वृणीष्ण(वृषीष्व)" इति ॥
On the arrival of the king on the spot, the ascetic may acquaint him with the history of ancient kings and their states, and tell him: "Every time when I complete the course of a hundred years, I enter into the fire and come out of it as a fresh youth (bála). Now, here in your presence, I am going to enter into the fire for the fourth time. It is highly necessary that you may be pleased to honour me with your presence at the time. Please request three boons."
english translation
samAgatAz ca rAjJA pUrva rAja deza abhijJAnAni kathayet, "zate zate ca varSANAM pUrNe aham agniM pravizya punar bAlo bhavAmi, tad iha bhavat samIpe caturtham agniM pravekSyAmi, avazyaM me bhavAn mAnayitavyaH, trIn varAn vRNISNa(vRSISva)" iti ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रतिपन्नं ब्रूयात् "सप्त रात्रम् इह सपुत्र दारेण प्रेक्षा प्रहवण पूर्वं वस्तव्यम्" इति ॥
When the king agrees to do so, he may be requested to come and remain at the spot with his wives and children for seven nights to witness the sacrificial performance.

pratipannaM brUyAt "sapta rAtram iha saputra dAreNa prekSA prahavaNa pUrvaM vastavyam" iti ॥
